Sure you will never, ever have it, but the Renault Talisman is already a pretty looking car. The Talisman Estate is even prettier. Yeah, I know, lately we went full German (ie: Peugeot 308) when it comes to design. But still.

I feel like they could have done something with this space below the headlight. Maybe a ‘taper to a slit’ style vent?

Is anyone else getting really strong VW vibes off this? I think it’s the grille.

Oh definitely. It has the same vibe as the new Passat. Like the Peugeot 308 reminds you of a more elegant Golf/A3.
Then again, it’s in line with Renault’s new desig, cues. I find the new Espace to be quite the looker.

Well... Over here not many Audi owners would be proud to have their car compared to a Renault :)

I don’t know, I quite like it this way. It looks a bit weird though, but at the same time I prefers the way they made the DRLs here, than to what the front end of the new Espace looks like.
And I do see a lot of the Dezir concept in the front end of the Talisman.

Is this the Renault Maxima? Really liking their designs lately! Prefer them 1000x over the Nissan counterparts (although that’s been true for a while).

agree - kind of a VW Passat, Dodge Magnum love child.

Actually now on second look, I see the result of a drunken tryst between a Ford and an Audi.

They are indeed in the same segment (segment D for us, mid-size for you). But the Talisman uses the new Renault-Nissan modular platform the CMF C/D, same platform used by the new Renault products as well as the Nissan Qashqai and X-Trail/Rogue. The new Maxima is still on the old Nissan D platform.

Throw a bit of Lincoln in that too, for that massive grill.
